Eastern Tuscany
Set out, explore, return.
A quiet setting in the countryside, among art towns, villages and landscapes to discover at your own pace.
Around the villa
Tuscany,
beyond the familiar routes.
From Villa Campo di Fiore, just outside Arezzo, four valleys open up: Valdichiana, Casentino, Valdarno and Valtiberina. Historic towns, artistic masterpieces, walking trails and thermal waters invite you to explore Tuscany and neighbouring Umbria, choosing a different direction each day.
Journey times vary between destinations: Florence and especially Lucca deserve a day of their own, with more time allowed for travel. Always check your route, traffic and access before setting off.
- Arezzo — Piazza Grande, the Logge Vasari and the frescoes by Piero della Francesca in the Basilica of San Francesco.
- Cortona — stone-paved lanes, views over the Valdichiana and the Etruscan collections at the MAEC.
- Castiglion Fiorentino and Lucignano — the Cassero fortress, medieval streets and the precious Albero d’Oro, the Golden Tree.
- Valdichiana and Monte Lignano — cycling along the Sentiero della Bonifica and walks on the trails around the villa.
- Casentino — walks in the Foreste Casentinesi, the monastery and hermitage of Camaldoli, and the sanctuary of La Verna.
- Lake Trasimeno — Castiglione del Lago, Passignano and sections of the cycle route for a day exploring towns and lakeshores.
- Siena, Val d’Orcia and Rapolano Terme — Piazza del Campo, the landscapes around Pienza and thermal pools for days that combine art and relaxation.
- Perugia and Assisi — Perugia’s historic centre and Fontana Maggiore, the Basilica of San Francesco and the lanes of Assisi.
- Florence and Lucca — the Uffizi and Florence Cathedral, Lucca’s tree-lined walls and squares.
